Licenses & Applications
Local Minister's License
All ministers in the Church of the Nazarene are required to begin the process of licensing through the local church. A local license is granted by a local church board and must be held for one full year prior to application for a district license.

District Minister's License - Applications are due to the District Board of Ministry, by no later than April 1, 2017
After holding a local license for one year, the minister may request recommendation to the District for a District License. The candidate must have an approved number of academic classes in the course of study, the recommendation of the local pastor & board, a cleared Local/District Background check, and meet with the District Board of Ministry. (**See Tab "Candidate Interviews" - candidates for district licenses will be interviewed on April 7-8, 2017.) If approved by the Board of Ministry, they are recommended to the District Assembly which may grant a district license.
